Home is where the ART is! 2020
This summer’s theme is “Home is where the Art is”. Bellas Artes artists, ranging in age from 2 to 82, have been given 140 sets of artist quality gouache/opaque watercolors, brushes & mixed-media paper journals. Each artist also received an educational Booklet with directions on multiple ways to use the paints and inspirational images featuring pre-colonial art collections from Frida Kahlo’s home garden, Diego Rivera’s Mexico City Museum, and Tamayo’s Museum in Oaxaca as well as contemporary Oaxacan folk art made in the homes of the Aguilar Family, Teodora Blanco & others.
El tema de este verano es “El hogar es donde está el arte”. A los artistas de Bellas Artes, con edades comprendidas entre los 2 y los 82 años, se les han dado 140 juegos de gouache / acuarelas opacas, pinceles y revistas de papel de medios mixtos con calidad de artista. Cada artista también recibió un Folleto educativo con instrucciones sobre múltiples formas de usar las pinturas e imágenes inspiradoras con colecciones de arte precoloniales del jardín de Frida Kahlo, el Museo de la Ciudad de México de Diego Rivera y el Museo de Tamayo en Oaxaca, así como el arte popular contemporáneo de Oaxaca hecho en los hogares de la familia Aguilar, Teodora Blanco y otros.
